Transponder (98 GS300)
Newbie question:
I just purchased a used GS300 from the dealer and it only came with one freakin key!!!
Is it possible to buy a used key with the transponder and take the key portion out and just replace that? I know that I can program the transponder but what good is that with the wrong key?

this subject has been discussed many times.
Unfortunately the key portion cant be removed as the plastic head is molded around it.
I just bought a non-trnasponder key and had it cut as my master key ($30). now i use it with my ebay transponder / remote key ($20) together on the same keychain. ( ofcourse the ebay key had to be programmed both for remote functions and the transponder portion)
