Cd changer help !!!!!!
I hope someone can help me...
I own a 2001 RX300 European type without a cd changer.
Here in Italy, the RX300 is sold in three models, one of these has not a CD Changer, but i think that the premium sound system mounted on my car is the same of the models with cd changer.
I asked to Lexus seller for a cd changer, but seems impossible to have the cd changer with a right price.
So i am looking for a Pioneer cd changer compatible with my sound system, and that i can control with the touch screen of the RX300 sound system.

Have you tried ebay? Even though many of the items for sale my not be in Italy, the seller may ship there. However, I'm not sure if the OEM U.S. spec (if there is such thing) Pioneer CD changer would work with your system.

Maybe, knowing the code, i'll try to find the cd changer in a store here in Europe.

You could also check with a Lexus Dealer in your neighborhood to see what would need to be purchased... model number, etc to fit your vehicle.

there is no aftermarket cd changer that will work with the factory head unit. lexus paid pioneer a lot of money to come up with an exclusive cd changer for them. i have however bought a couple of factory cd changers off of ebay for less then 150$ if you find one on ebay and need help getting it to italy let me know. i'll give you a hand.
i can also check with a guy i know that might have some factory cd changers in stock. let me know if i can help.

all you need is the model number for the Lexus CD changer that plugs to your radio, when i looked into all the dealer needed to know was if you had Nak or just premium sound and if you had the factory sub woofer, apparently there is a few different CD changer they use or different connections. once you get the model number just search ebay and other used parts places

the only difference in the cd changers is the nak and premium. he listed he has the premium sound dydtem. therefore he would need the non-nak cd changer. the nak changer has an extra wire that feeds into the nak amplifier.......sends some kind of code to it. the nak changer and amp will not work with the premium changer or amp.
