Hey all,

I am driving a 94 SC400 and have been lusting over getting a new head unti for a long time now. About two weeks ago I finally broke down and had a AVIC x940bt installed. It looks great, functions nicely and sounds better than the old OEM Pioneer unit.

But...

it seems to have exposed the age of my stock speakers so I have pulled the trigger on going a complete upgrade. I was interested in hearing form others who know more than I do about these things.

The install suggested by the fellas over at Al and Eds in Marina Del Rey is:

Focal IC 100's up front (they are going to split out the tweeter and add a cross over)
Focal 165 CA1 in the rear deck
Alpine SWR-843D in the stock location
JL XD700/5 to power the lot.

Opinions?

Al & Ed's has been one of the most highly regarded "Chains" in the industry. From what I have heard they do top quality work along with great customer service. The equipment you mentioned will sound outstanding!

Let us know the outcome!

It's a good rig. If you ever want to upgrade in the future, go with Dynaudio speakers. You'll be amazed.
