Default Lexus sc300 navi upgrade

So I upgraded the head unit this weekend. Its the Pioneer avic-x930bt. This unit is fantastic, and I love the bluetooth connectivity to my phone. The only thing is that I get a noise in my speakers, I have an idea why but I just dont know how to fix it. I grounded all wires possible which reduced it but its still bad, is there a way to eliminate it? thanks

Sly

Did you run power wires and speaker wires on the same side?

If it's alternator whine and If you are using the factory 4ch amp, you could use a ground loop isolator.

After searching these forums, I thought you couldn't fit a new head without a LOT of soldering and adapting...

Is this a "drop-in" installation? Who did the work, and what adaptors were used?

Thanks much!

Metra made a wiring harness back in 2009 for the SC's. Before that it was a lot more work to hook up an aftermarket headunit. They also make a dash kit as well.

To get rid of the speaker noise, you can bypass the factory amp or run a new amp with speakers to get rid of it. I haven't tried the ground loop isolator like Zerodrag mentioned. If the isolator works, it'd be a lot easier than bypassing the factory amp.

I have an aftermarket pioneer navi unit as well. I am utilizing my factory amps and got speaker noise. In order for me to get rid of the noise, I installed 2 ground loop isolators. One for my front speakers, and one for my rear speakers.

Thanks for the inputs guys, Im just going to bypass the factory amp and use the headunits amp, simplest and cheapest way to get rid of the whine.

The best free fix for pioneer speaker whine is to sauder a short piece of wire to any one of the outside prongs of the rca's behind the radio and ground it to radio chassis . 10 years of installing pioneers it works every time
