Android dock in Nav cubby?
I have an HTC Thunderbolt, and would like to take out the NAV screen that comes with my 2002 SC430 and do one of two things:
Create a dock for my phone which powers the phone and hooks up to the stereo. Replacing the nav screen entirely.
Drop in a full time Android tablet screen which hooks up to the stereo. Replacing the nav screen entirely.
Has this been done, and where? The factory nav screen is useless to me, compared to the phones capabilities.

Meh, thought about it, then kicked the idea out of my head and got me a double din dvd player. Your best bet with a tablet is if you build a custom mount for it or you get one of those windshield mounts. A phone? Doubt the efficiency.
You'd still need the headunit for audio input nonetheless.

Did you headunit run android?.. I guess no ones really done this. I've got motivation now sine the CD changer has jammed.
I just purchased an 08 SC430 and thinking of a way to do that too. The nav screen is not of much use. The car already has a cable for connecting an Iphone or tablet so thinking of a way to replace the nav screen permanently with an apple tablet with cell capability so I can use it for maps or other apps and audio would still feed through the radio as it does when I connect my Iphone. Not sure if there is a tablet that is the same size as the nav screen but would like to know if anyone has ever done this. If I figure it out I'll update this post.
Thanks
