Default Static when using radio? (Kenwood Din)

Hey guys,

I have a 9980HD from Kenwood and for a 1000 din the radio is very staticky even when lsitening to local channels. I tried the channels on another car and it sounds fine. Did the installer do something wrong?

Any input would be appreciated thanks!

1 did you check all your antenna wiring inputs...
2 where you listening to the radio in the other car right next to the car that has the static issue
if you where not near the other car it may all boil down to reception your area remember your dealing with air waves so your acceptably to receive interference by other object in the area walls, houses mountain ,tunnels other thing that transmit (alternator, relay microwave and even rc cars or mobile device ...etc ....

Thanks for the input. These radio channels I've been listening to for years, they should have no problems. It might be the antenna wiring inputs then..

what model lex do u have? some have 2 antennas both in the glass.. if 1 or both of the wires are damaged it may reduce radio reception... plus u'll only be able to use 1 of the 2 also reducing fm reception... an aftermarket amplified glass mount fm antenna may help
