Hi all new to the forum but I've been doing my research and haven't found a answer for this yet.

I just purchased a 2009 IS 250 with navigation but WITHOUT the Mark Levinson system.

im interested in 2 things Navigation override and iPhone integration

Ive looked at the Vaistech ML+ system and think its amazing.

I've also researched both Beatsonic and Prestige for the DVD/Navigation over ride

now here is my questions:

1) if i install the ML+ do i also need to install the Beatsonic navigation AND DVD combo override unit(NT3202) or will just the Navigation override one work(NVK-03)? (I'm thinking i like the beatsonic one because I'm going to rewire in a new switch anyway that is less bulky)

2) Will the backup camera work normally with the Vaistech ML+

3) how do the 2 integrate? do they play nicely?? are the wired in a daisy chain or are they plugged into different plugs on the back of the navi/radio unit?

anything else anyone has to add to this please let me know. all comments, suggestions are appreciated!!

 

1) if you want both nav and video access when driving, you need both, i think

2) yes, the backup camera works still

3) they are not daisy chained, they use completely different harnesses

i have done a lot of ml+ and prestigious units together, work flawlessly, very nice stuff. i have only done beat once, but the idea is the same

 

Thanks, i am awaiting an answer back from vaistech on the dvd override question still as i thought the specs on the ML+ said it had video in motion capabilities which i think means the same as the dvd override switch that BS and PS sell

but feel free to keep chiming in the more knowledge the better.

 

good point, i think they do have that feature and you need to punch in the code to display the video

 

got a reply from vaistech. the ML+ does come with video override built in.

so if going with a beatsonic only the DVD is needed.

if going with the Prestige kit it comes with both anyway.

i think ill be doing beatsonic navigation only kit and installing this switch instead of the factory one
