Ladies and Gentlemen,

Quick question: I know that aftermarket iPod/MP3 hookups come in two varieties: AUX cord that plugs into the aux jack on the device, and those of the USB variety and plug into the bottom of an iPod.

Is there a difference in sound quality between the two? I ask because I have the VaisTech iPod hookup that goes into the bottom of my iPod, and the sound quality is so-so. I know that Apple doesnt support 320k audio whereas my BlackBerry PlayBook does, so for this reason, I was thinking of having the Vaistech unit uninstalled and having an aux cord put in. This would allow me to play HQ audio in the car, but I am not sure if there is a noticeable difference between USB/AUX method. Using headphones, the difference between the iPod and PlayBook is very noticeable, but not sure about it in the car.

Would I notice a difference if I switched to AUX and used my PlayBook?

Put simply: is there a difference in sound quality between the AUX and USB connections?

i tried before on my gs350. aux vs vaistech. huge difference. the aux doesn't sound good at all. all my clients who have done the same, i have yet to see one who thinks the aux is "better"
