Sorry for the newbie question, but is there an adapter or something that i need to purchase to plug into the ipod or aux plug? All i see is the single hole to plug something into, man i sound lost..lol thanks for your help

 

Depending the year there should be a "AUX" whole in the arm rest - a 3.5mm to 3.5mm (mini jack to mini jack) will work just fine. Some of the new ISs have Ipod integration

 

my 2011 has a usb port - so you use the ipod cable that comes with your ipod and it links up perfectly to the car

I believe the older IS models had something similar to an audio jack. They sell adapter cables everywhere (Apple stores for example..) that connects the ipod/itouch to the audio jack.

 

I got mine from Radio Shack, but dont the one that plugs into the headphone jack.

 

thanks...yeah i need one that goes from usb on ipod to audi jack in arm rest right? i did the audio jack in arm rest to audio jack on ipod, holy **** it was horrible..lol

 

Yep what they said. I'm sooooo glad they did the blue tooth in the newer models i disliked pluggin my iPod to the AUX

 

You can add a bluetooth adapter to the AUX input and stream music - works great and was like $25 on ebay - maybe worth doing if you ever plan on using a bluetooth device for you music

Yes I would also love to know how this is possible , I just did a quick search and found some products but do not understand them. I'm guessing it utilizes your existing AUX jack (non USB/Bluetooth IS's) and transmits incoming bluetooth sound (Phone?iPod/iPhone?) back into the AUX and plays throu our speakers but where is the voice picked up? If this is real this would be such a wonderful solution!

1. get a a 12v -> USB plug to power this device and/or your phone/mp3 player.... Walmart has some that go into the 12v hole and are almost flush (good idea since space is limited in the armrest)
2. Plug in the bluetooth adapter to the usb charging area for power - sync your device to it (will automatically sync when you enter the vehicle)
3. run the 3.5 - 3.5 (provided) cable from the adapter to your car's AUX plug.
4. play song on the device and press the CD/AUX button on the headunit and BAM - music is streaming.

* If you use your phone (pandora or something) when you get a call the adapter cuts off and the car's bluetooth takes over so you call can be answered hands free like normal.

Works well.

I need to get one of those! I hate having my phone/ipod stuck in the center consol when plugged into the AUX port. It makes it more of a hassle to change songs lol

 

Can you get just any kind? Like that one says blackberry, but will it still work with ipod/iphone?

 

The "blackberry" one there works with my girlfriends Iphone and my android phone .... my guess is anything bluetooth it'll connect to/with

 

Im curious as to how much sound quality is lost via wireless connection. It's not like air-tunes through wifi via an optical cable at home(if using a Mac). My iPod is connected to an aftermarket cd/DVD in glovebox by component (L/R) and even that's a pain.
