I have a question. I am going to receive my new single din Panason DF 402U stereo, and I need some help.
I need to know how to take out the stock unit of a 96 es300 stereo(i know this came up before but i tried searching).
Can you give me a link where the instructions are very good for a noobie. I need to know how to take it out and then i wont have much problems, hopefully installing the new stereo and dash kit.
I have seen that info on this board before I just don't remember where. They are still getting the DIY section going so for now just use the "search" tab and you can set it to the ES300 forum specifically and enter "stock stereo removal."
On most models you first pull out any ashtrays, cup holders, etc (they PULL out usually), then remove the shifter **** (pushing down on plastic ring exposes screws), and you can pull out some of the console exposing the bottom radio screws.
To get to the top screws you have to pop out the air vents. They sometimes pop out but might have screws. Just use your best judgement with everything and you'll be fine.
