I got a KICKER ZR 600, it runs 600x1 @4ohms , 300x2 @2ohms. I had 2 12" kicker comps vr's in a sealed box...however i sold them and i am looking for a new setup. I will keep the current amp....i am looking to spend around $350 on a sub. I am looking for a single 15" this setup is going in a van so i got to save some space up.

i want hard hitting bass!!!

which subs do you guys recommend in my price range, and that hits harder than the 2 12" KICKER COMPS VR's?

 

JL w7 .... a bit more but hey its worth it..

Also... what are you doing using a kicker for free air..... Slap that sucker in a sealed and it will hit 3 times as hard.

 

The JL is NOT what you are looking for based on your desire for "hard-hitting bass." The JL moves alot of air, but is not real loud. It sounds like a system with an Audio Control Epicenter. They work well in a SQ environment, but not for "bass-ing."

Since you seem to like Kicker, why not try one of theirs in a ported enclosure? Just remember that "space = bass" and by going to a larger sub, you will HAVE to give up some space in your vehicle.

My personal reccomendation would be a Treo Engineering SSX 15.22. But they are difficult to find and also a little more expensive. We use them for competition and they ROCK.

You need bass? Treo, Inhuman, Kove, Kicker. And the ultimate SPL woofer I would use would be Digital Designes.

Ahhhh, our arch enemy in the Bass Wars of USACi...Digital Designs.

In a few words...they slam. They're success is well documented. Us guys with the Treos put the guys with the DDs in our sights first! We've been doing well, winning alot, but we've lost a few too!!!
