The bass on my HU (Nav non ML) in my 2007 is250 is set to flat and the treb and mids are all the way up. I keep the gain on the amp at about 1/4.

I feel like I should be getting better sound. Im considering adding some insulation material to the floor of the box to see if that helps.

Also considering swapping to a JL 1000.1 however its only 1000 @ 1ohm but people have been suggesting its better.

What are your opinions? Im fine with my mids and highs since i dont keep my bass up too loud, im just missing the punchy bass from rock my system seems to only do well on deep tone rap or sometimes Korn.

Would an Optima Red or Yellow top help as well?
