Default Pac TR-7 Problem

Hey all, I just bought the PAC tr7 bypass for an alpine headunit and when I wired everything up it didn't bypass.

So I manually tried to program it and when I do two pulses to the ground, it flashes each time I ground it but it doesn't give me confirmation with two flashes back 3 seconds after like it's supposed to.

Did I just get a bum unit or what?

Anyone with the tr-7 please chime in.

Thanks

Did you follow the handy dandy flow chart?

It's located hyah!

If you powered it up prior to setting it up, you skipped the first step. Not saying you did, just aking.

Yes I did follow the flow chart. This step just doesn't happen in the programing process:
"When you reach the number
of pulses, wait 3 seconds. The
LED will flash back the version
number you chose."
