Default Soundgate TOYPD2 (Vaistech SL2i) install question

I'm installing an iPod adapter in my wife's 2002 GS300 (non-nav). It's a Soundgate TOYPD2 clone of the Vaistech SL2i-UP unit (yes, I am aware of the "unauthorized" selling of these units and I know Vaistech will not support them).

I've got two plugs on the back of my factory Pioneer head unit. A 20 pin and a 12 pin. I have unplugged the 12 pin connection and replaced it with the 12 pin harness coming from the Soundgate unit. This leaves me with a male 12 pin plug coming from the car's harness and no place to plug it in. It has only two wires coming into it and the remaining 10 pins are empty. My service manual says these two wires are TX2+ and TX2- coming from the gateway ECU on non-nav cars or coming from the multi display on nav cars. Anyone know what these two wires do and is it OK to leave them unplugged?

Here's the link to the diagram in the service manual. The two wires in question are at the top of the diagram in the middle next to the 3 antenna wires.

Any information is appreciated!

Default TOYPD2 installation

I just installed a TOYPD2 in my Rx330 today. Works great! The unit I received (bought on eBay) had a harness cable in two pieces. One piece plugs into the interface box; the other end has a connector that mates with the second cable piece. At the end of the second cable piece, there is a "Y" - that is, two ends, one with a male 12 pin, the other with a female 12 pin connector.

At install, I just pulled the plug out of the 12 pin socket on the radio, plugged one branch of the "Y" into the radio socket, and the other branch into the dangling cable that was removed from the radio socket.

If your TOYPD didn't have the "Y" on the end, you may need a different harness.
