(Navigation) I wonder how long before Lexus ....
I wonder how long before Lexus moves their navigation versioning scheme away from a 4 digit year + release digit. As a software architect I think that was a huge mistake on their part. I might be wrong but I could swear I read somewhere that the UK was a letter revision.
If they would have just moved to something cryptic and unique to each model (most of their model nav systems are incompatible anyway) no one would have a clue their software was out of date.
The next biggest mistake they are continuing to make is trying to charge $600 bucks for a stinking update. Dear lord that is steep.

I agree with your pricing comment. Looks to me like they're gouging what they believe to be a captive clientele. This client is no longer captive. Lexus' treatment on the Nav. update issue ... obsolete data as-purchased, delays, lies & outrageous pricing, has given me a huge anti-Lexus bias that will significantly affect my shopping for my next vehicle.
