I agree with engin ear, JL audio rose to fame with their high quality products with a blend of sound quality and output. They get hated on because it's a mainstream brand that many people just happen to like. JL gets from me!

 

The guage wire you're using is honestly too small. I would have at least went with a 4awg wire. How much air circulation is your amp getting?

It is not alright to have your amp running hot especially when you state that it is hot to even touch. Eventually your amp will blow.
