Well I flaked out half way through this. the solder didnt do squat. and even if it did...since my tape player is completely broken...it wouldnt have worked regardless..looking into a pioneer double din now.
I went with the kenwood dnx-5120 double din because I like the garmin gps. I like how on the kenwood you can change the color behind the buttons to match your existing buttons in the car. It matches the stock lighting perfectly.
I am trying this mod on a 98 sc400 with Nakamichi stereo but cant find the right capacitors or test points. I have my stereo apart now so pleaseee helppp..
My radio looks the same. But when i open it it all look completly different. Is there any other way i can put aux in? Or what can i do when my cd changer is not working, do any of you guys got a solution how to send a false signal or so? I think i'd read all the threads and still got no answer..

Define not working. If it powers up you can do pure drifters mod. I ended up going that route in my 98 GS. I don't even have a disc in my changer. Now that I think about it I wonder if it'd work without the magazine.
Anyway his method works great. I even attached a moto bluetooth kit to the input.
