I went with the kenwood dnx-5120 double din because I like the garmin gps. I like how on the kenwood you can change the color behind the buttons to match your existing buttons in the car. It matches the stock lighting perfectly.

did you use the middle pin as ground? 99 SC may be different but if it says L and R i would think it would work the same.

Define not working. If it powers up you can do pure drifters mod. I ended up going that route in my 98 GS. I don't even have a disc in my changer. Now that I think about it I wonder if it'd work without the magazine.

Anyway his method works great. I even attached a moto bluetooth kit to the input.

Pure Bliss!

I did the tape player aux hack, connecting the pins ground left right on cn251 connector to the wires in the audio cable.

my ipad works great with this hack, but my androids don't work at all.

the ipad detects the headphone jack is plugged in, but the android does not.

However, if I plug in actual headphones into my android, it detects the headphones just fine.

I'm disappointed.

i figured it out. plugging in an extension cable tricks the android phone into headphone mode, allowing it to output to headunit.

i have a male audio cable soldered directly to the head unit, and it just works with the ipad.

android needs an extension cable to connect to the head unit's fixed cable
