Default Sc300 key differences

wondering what is the measurements for a 2000-2001 sc300 key and a 92+? if the keys are uncut, are they the same other than the difference of the remote?

The 2001 SC key (blade) is the same length as the GS and the IS. The Key for 91-97 is longer...well just by eyeballing it. 98-00...not sure, but I think they are the same.

Im sure if your good with a Dremel you can cut a older key and make it fit in a new key/fob remote.

As far as keys being cut. I bought 2 ebay generic blanks for my 97' The dealership cut them for free. But I think its 10 bucks to have them cut it.

If the dealer gives you crap about it not being a Lexus key, the guy's a Douche and should be slapped.

My 2000 SC master key is almost 4" long, remote incl.

The blade itself is about 2". There's about 1/8-1/4" of blade (with screw) which is held in the remote.

I have a couple spare OEM blanks (blade only) if you need a spare.

It's great in wallet or as hide-a-key, and for when key is locked in car.

Hope this answers your query.

Search option will come up with more tech. details. Well, sort of.

GL.

Wondering Sick: did you see this thread in your search?

Hope it's helpful. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=319766

These blades, if properly laser-cut, will open doors + start pre-'98 SC's. Apparently, later models have pre-installed theft prevention chips.
