Is Alpine - Type-E 10" Single-Voice-Coil 4-Ohm Subwoofer any good for this (stock sub replace) application? I found them really cheap, like under $50 new cheap

 

what bracket did you guys use to bolt the sub down in the stock location?..only thing holding me back rom finishin the install..blah!

 

im replacing mine with a "flat or shallow" pioneer 12" as i want some more "bump" and the 10" just siint cutting it. im having the shop build me a shallow box too so it wont interfere with my trunk space! i dunno man i just wouldnt wanna mount a sub THROUGH my leather specially not the coveted black interior (i want a black+black)!its creative but i think that looks awful but thats just my $0.02

 

we've heard alot of good things about the discontinued jl free air 10s on here but was not able to find any of the older models. so we went ahead and ordered one of the marine jl subs (jl 10ib5) which is a free air too. i will keep you guys posted on how it sounds. we have a jl 500/5 running to it and a/d/s components. i could of swore i saw somebody's trunk pic on CL with one of these subs, if you know which one im talkin about, please hit me up. i am curious how it sounds. thanks.
