GPS Navigation for 1992 SC400

How would I install gps navigation into a 1992 SC400?
Something that takes the place of my stereo would be compatible with the ***** off to the side, my 12 disc changer, and the automatic antenna.
Would I need to build a custom console?

wow..something that utilizes the ***** and the stock 12 disc changer and antenna? thats quite a bit..are you thinking of replacing the deck? i dont think anything could be done. you could custom fabricate something else which would be better imo. like a carpc. i just finished installing a carpc in my car and i love it! i got the gps navi, 160gb worth of music/videos/etc, and as for my radio, i use a usb attachment. you might want to look in that direction.
pnyboy27 post pics! It's so nice...
Question is how good are you at DIY. Carputing requires a lot of DIY and a lot of tinkering. If you're good at that stuff than a carputer is definately the route you should go.
I wanted a navigation too so like most people I went out to buy a navigation... after everything was said and done it costed me about 1200 installed. It required a new amp to power the sub and a half din slot to fill the hole because our cars are 2.5 DIN.

I was happy with the navi for awhile the only thing I didn't like was I couldn't really customize anything, everything was pretty much final. A few members tried to make me get a carputer but I was happy with the navi and I thought carputers cost too much. Anyways after seeing the capabilities and the clean set up, I was convinced and made the switch.
With my carputer after everything was said and done it costed me roughly 800 bucks and that's mostly because I kept buying things I don't need anyways it should've costed only about 600 bucks.

Point is... Carputer is the way to go.
Some other members can chime in and show you their setups... so nice! Mine is weak in comparison.
