Default Fake Theft Deterrent

I believe on the market they have several LED devices with fancy blinking lights which is apparently supposed to deter theft. How well would you guys say it works? I know it is tough to determine, so instead, pretend that you are interested in acquiring a ride for yourself, if you see the flashing blue LED, how often will it make you consider against your intentions?

I'd think twice.

but it's best to go for a real aftermarket alarm with paging.

-ignition switch to starter
-fuel pump electrical
-ignition electrical
-transmission P/N switch bypass (makes car think the trans isnt in the P or N so it wont start)
-M/T car Clutch Start Bypass (makes car think clutch isnt depressed)
etc.....

Or how about some sort of Security System sticker? LOL. I can see myself with a HUGE decal.

Basically I'm just wanting a quick, easy, and cheap theft deterrent. Something that a potential crook can notice without having to find out after breaking my window or prying open my door. And I'm also attempting to sell my SC as well, so I'm avoiding putting anything into it. I don't imagine the alarm system is going to help the resale value but an LED won't hurt.

A good alarm actually does help resale when it's the right car.

Plus, i don't like stickers.

A LED though might do SOMETHING.

I had this one in my last 2 cars. I'm not sure if it made a difference but no one stole my car. I really think that a professional thief know that it is just a light and most of the enthusiasts knows as well. Maybe it will stop some young kid or druggie from getting any bright ideas

You're better off getting an aftermarket alarm and installing a hidden kill switch somewhere.

Thats very true, nothing is going to stop a professional thief, but mainly it is to deter the common passing thief.

So maybe I'll check ebay for something like that, but what search terms should I use? Is there a specific name for those devices? And where would I wire it to?

"LED scanner alarm"
without the quotes, just C&P into ebay.
