I recently purchased a 98 LS400 and have an issue getting the keyless remote to work. When I put the key into the driver's side door, the alarm goes of and I have to turn the key to the right and back to the left for the alarm to shut off. I have taken the remote to several places and no one can program the keyless entry. I can open the passenger side door with out the remote going off. I recently took it to a Lexus dealership and they told me that the diagnostics read that I do not have a driver side door at all. They told me that I would have to bring the vehicle back and have the door panel taken off ($$$$$$$). Has anyone experienced this problem or know how to resolve it without spending thousands of dollars getting the dealership to resolve it. Please HELP!!!! Other than this, the car is great.

 

take it to bestbuy they can disarm the factory alarm and install a new viper alarm for 200 bucks starting, its one way to fix it. i had a similar problem so i disbled it and installed a viper 791(bestbuy tech)
