Unhappy Factory security issues.

On my 98 sometimes when I unlock the doors with the remote, then open the door the alarm will go off. Does anyone know what this could be or how to fix it?

if you unlock the door by putting the key in, does the alarm still go off?

When you unlock the door, can you see if the red light is still on that arms the security? i don't think that should matter though. Only thinkg I can say is find out what the dealer says and if they've had any problems like this. Sorry man

Intermittent problems are tough to diagnose. I'm having a similar problem with my 97 ES. Sometimes the alarm will go off by itself for no reason. Other times it would go off when I opened the door. The strange part it that usually the alarm hasn't even been set.

I've been to the dealer several times. The first time they said it was probably a defective remote, so I stopped using the remote but the alarm continued to go off. Next they replaced the alarm ECU - it still went off. Two weeks ago they replaced the door actuators and so far there have been no problems. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
