i need more bass. but i dont want to change out my headunit or add an amp. i just want it simple. anyone have suggestions for a 10 inch sub that will nicely replace my stock one?
i dont know jack about stereos. i did some searching and a few people bought pioneers. but what model? the ohms confuse me. so is there a good direct replacement?

There are plenty of stock replacements. When choosing the right subwoofer you want to make sure that it will clear the top of the gas tank. Also, everytime the bass hits so will the subwoofer cover. Thats why I would just get a small box and leave it in the trunk if you want to keep it simple.
i talked to a few car audio shops about this and they said they can do it with a decent sub, but you will need a new amp for the power, otherwise it wont really hit any harder

By "hit harder" do you want more extension (lower notes on the scale), more volume (LOUDER!!!!) or both? Just replacing the sub may make things worse though. Bass (both volume and extension) require the sub to move air. There are hundreds of subs on the market that will move more air than your factory sub but these subs have a lower sensitivity. That means it takes more power (wattage) to reach the same volume as your current sub. There are subs with higher sensitivity but those usually don't have the extension of your current sub. In the sub world, it's all a trade-off. Unless you know the details of your sub, then it is a gamble with the outcome when you switch subs.
If you are willing to go with an additional sub amp, then we can recommend dozens of replacements. If you can build an adapter and use a 12" sub since then we can help as well. If you don't want an amp or the hassle of a 12" sub, then I recommend that you don't do anything.
