Default JL Audio 10W0v2 Reviews

Anyone have any reviews on JL 10W0V2 subwoofer?

A question for SC owners..How much more base does this thing have in comparison to the stock sub?

Thanks in advance guys.

I would like to mount it in the stock sub column..otherwise I'd go with the 10W6v2..lol.

Looking to keep it clean..

the JL needs 6.25" of mounting depth which I am not sure of the distance to the tank. I am running a 10w6 and I can tell you that it was nice and loud in my 300ZXTT. I am pushing it with a 500/1 JL amp.

the other issue you are going to run into is the vibration it will cause on the back lid. You are going to need to secure the lid more and mat the hell out of it to hope it does not rattle.

what amp are you using as it will determine the sound?

I put my 10w6 in last night in the stock location and it sat right on the tank. If I lift it up and it would push the speaker cover up.

10W0v2
Nominal Diameter: 10 in. (250 mm)
Continuous Power Handling: 300 W
Xmax: 0.45 in. (11.4 mm) one-way, linear
Impedance: 4 ohm (SVC)
Voice Coil Diameter: 2.0 in. (51 mm)
Rec. Enclosure: 0.65 cu.ft. / 18.4 liters (Sealed)
Mounting Depth: 4.90 in. (124 mm)
This will save you about 1.5" so it might work. The issue will be bracing the back dash. Plus for the sound/power I am used to I would want to go 3...hmm that might be interesting LOL...

Can you use the 10w 6 as a free air sub in replacement of the oem sub?

How does that sucker hit without an enclosure?

I was hoping to find someway to get an box aroudn 10W0v2 in the stock sub location..but at this point seems a little farfetched.

I wouldn't use the 10w0 in an infinite baffle setup. First off the QTS of the JL 10W0v2 is .604. While a QTS greater than .6 is your first criteria for an IB setup, I personally don't think the QTS is high enough. Second, is the reduced power handling characteristics of IB setups. Up to a 50% reduction in power handling can be experienced. The 10W0 is 300w RMS. If 50% reduction is experienced then you are left with a 150w rms sub.

My last concern is that you ask if the JL will have more bass then the stock sub? Are you expecting to just drop in the JL and wire up to the stock amp? If so you will experience little to no difference. Especially if you have an older Nak system where the sub is not a 4 ohm voice coil.
