Subwoofer and Amp problems.
Just got done installing a new amp and sub in my 94 GS. The problem is the sub cuts off alot..well im not sure if its the amp or the sub. Also when i turn it up too loud the sub sort of bubbles. Is that because i havent made a box for it yet?
You just have the sub sitting in the trunk, or did you mount it in the stock sub location?
The thing with the stock location is that the rear deck rattles..a lot. I had my sub like that for a while, and it got to bothersome, so I put it in a box in the trunk and its louder and sounds better, and I can turn it up.
As for your cutting out problems, check all your connections, check the connection to the ground, and the connection to the power, hopefully you grounded the amp somewhere in the trunk. If everything is nice and tight, just play it and see what happens, if it goes off while just sitting there, it could be over-heating, if thats the case, buy a computer fan and hook it to the remote wire that goes to the amp, that should provide enough power for the fan, and that way it goes off when the car goes off.

Its just to set next to the amp, make it where it funnels air into the amp to cool it off, if the amp is overheating. I had my old amp like that, I also had my old amp wired wrong, but if your amp is overheating and is wired right, put a fan on it, it WILL cool it down.
If you are running amp with the stock radio, amp is/will have to work harder for the power that the radio is not putting out as well. This may be another cause for the amp over heating. Mine does this occasionally, but I will be changing out my headunit soon.
