units in the past where looking for ground when you are parked. So you had to ground the sensor wire and you could watch all the time. New units with navigation use data from gps to let you wach movies. I don't see point of having movie playing when you drive first you are more likly to crash your car kill or injure yourself or others and you will get ticket if cops see you watching movie. I don't get why anyone would want to have expensive head unit that cost you 1500? Somone may be realy tempted to take your radio out. If you park the car at night outside on parking lot the somone may smash window and get the radio out with one simple tool.

all of them will, the Z2 is the only one that's giving a real challenge to the bypassing community at the moment.

tritron: it's harder to steal double dins, but you can steal anything if you put your mind to it

Well just because it's playing while you're driving doesn't mean you're physically watching it...I've had a monitor on my dash for the last 5 years and i've never been pulled over by the police(for that). As far as the cost goes mine probably won't cost that much anyway, but to answer your question it's because people like nice things...That's the reason why we drive lexus' right??

Is bypassing it pretty simple or what??? I'm not very fluent in the art of car audio, lol. Will a installer do this for me(not likely huh?)??

eclipse = easy
alpine = more effort to bypass
pioneer = even more effort for N series, D series isn't horrible, and Z1 is same effort + a little more than alpine

yes the installers should know how to bypass each unit, or have a way of finding out how to bypass them.

With a Kenwood, all you have to do is ground the parking brake wire.

Wala!

If i am on a long trip I listen to old time radio shows that you can listen to while you drive. You can buy them here

http://www.otrnow.com/store/index.htm

Or you can do a Google and find books on tape or CD, or you can down load old radio on line. You can listen to old radio stories / shows and you don't have to take your eyes off the road
