Default How to delay auto-headlight signal

OK, I know this is probably alot of effort for something so minor.. but i am determined.

I have HIDs, therefore I cannot use the auto headlights because it makes them turn on BEFORE the engine fully cranks over. Therefore creating a voltage drop and making my HIDs flicker (and will eventually kill them) I do not care that they will go on and off through tunnels. But I do want them to go on AFTER my engine has completely turned on. If you really want to know why im obsesed with this, its is becuase I have a remote start alarm (**** factor). this would normally turn on my lights as well but due to the voltage drop problem i can not leave this feature on.

Now... Is there anyway I can delay the signal for the headlights for say, 5 seconds after turning on the ignition.

OR is there a way to completey delay the turning on of accessories (radio/headlights/everything except engine) until about 5 seconds after etc

OR is there a way to delay the signal from the light sensor to the ECU. ie even if its night, it wont tell the ECU to turn on the headlights until it gets the signal a few seconds after ignition

IE: I am looking for a suitable Power On Time Delay Relay

I know people are going to reply and say it cant be done, its not worth it etc but if someone here has the answer i will forever be grateful and just might help someone else with HIDs on their car too... thanks!! =D

BTW I have a twin turbo soarer though I dont think this would be very different from the V8s in regards to wiring

Welcome Good to see more international members on board (I'm from NSW as well).

I don't think there's a way (never searched for it... try a search before everyone sees this thread ). I'm trying to look for a way to disconnect the lowbeam lights from the flash mechanism (and with the amount of crap drivers in Sydney it'd really save my HID's too lol).

you would need something like this, http://news.thomasnet.com/fullstory/470656/3190
it's a delay timer relay. Just wire it opposite of how they have it set for automatic turn-off.

That's not how a timed relay works.
