Ok guys I have narrowed it down. I want one 15 inch that has good quality bass that is also gonna do well on a db meter. The choices I have came to are jl audio W3,new kicker solobaric L7, or earthquake *****. I am gonna have the sub hooked up to a phoenix gold ZX500. Please give me some insight on what you guys think and if you guys prefer another brand in subs please list the brand and why you prefer the it over what I have listed.

With the power you have...I would go with the W3's,they can sound really good with minimal power.

What do you consider "good" on a meter? It's VERY difficult to pull big #'s with one sub and minimal power...But with enough time and experimenting anything is possible.

 

not sure what your goal is (spl?sq?sql?), but some good all around 15" subs: image dynamic idq, adire tempest, dd 3515 or the new 2015, shocker mini xtreme, and even the audiobahn aw1500x

most of these are cheaper than the dub 3 or the l7, some are meant to sound better, some are flashier, some are designed to get louder, just a matter of preference
