2005 ES330 w/ ML Speaker Sizes?
Went through almost all of the 5,000 posts, didn't see too much on the new ES330's i guess owners aren't upgrading these that much.
Wondering what the speaker sizes are. I am guessing 8" sub and 1" tweeters but not sure about the rest of the stuff in the doors.
Thinking about doing some upgrades....

Hubert95..
I own a 06 ES330 and I understand your frust.. looks like we have a car where people don't bother upgrading anything.. simply perfect I guess haha!.. anyways I have had my sub turned off and replaced with a 10" Kicker .. the best place you can go to get info would be Best Buy.. use their monitor over at the Car Audio section to determine what speakers ES330 is using.
I have non-nav and ML system and I am planning to get a Nav version... not sure if I can get the whole center piece with Nav unit and replace it in mine.. not very sure if the wirings would match and work.. let me know if you have any ideas..
It is also difficult to search for complete center dash with the Nav unit.. not really sure what $$ will it costs me..

the es330 navigation headunit 86120-33620 which has E7002 on the faceplate lists for around 2500.00 from the dealer. the nav faceplate lists for 500.00. you will also need the voice navigation amoplifier a 1 channell amp mounted to the right of the glovebox to make the voice prompts work. probably can get whole system with navigation voice amp for half the list price from the used market. its nice for the 06 owner who has the ml system already as the nav sound system works best with the ml system.
as far as replacing the levinson speakers is always problematic. its not only the physical size of a speaker that matters for upgrading. the levinson amp works best with high effeincy 40 watt max 8 ohm door speakersa and 80 watt max 16 ohm subs which are not readily available in the aftermarket sector. oem stereo parts and aftermarket stereo parts especially from best buy do not mix well. there are expensive aftermarket speakers that work well with mark levinson like dynaudio (see percy's threads on levinson) but they cost more than the es330 levinson amp itself which lists for 649.00. so dont count on some 50.00 speakers from best buy being an upgrade.

was looking to maybe do a complete audio system upgrade. infiniti 6 channel amp, 12" pioneer shallow mount sub, maybe some infiniti highs.
but was wondering what the speaker sizes were. Now that i am listening to my stereo... i'm thinking i just may need to add a 10" bazooka and take out 8" free air sub.

yes adding a sub and incrersing the bass is the economical and improved sound system way to go or spending many thousands on a high end aftermarket system is the other alternative. any parts from best buy would just be a waste of time and money and in the end would decrease the value of your vehicle for trade in. did you ever see a used lexus on a lexus dealers lot with an aftermarket stereo from best buy in it in it? it would make as much sense as a used lexus with a hyundai 4 cylinder turbo in it.
