I posted in the stereo section, no responses, thought I'd give it a try here.

Anyone upgrade the speakers on their ML? I'm getting tired of the sound, but I love my NAV. I have some CDT CL 6.1 speakers sitting around.

What about:
Dump rear door speakers
2 CDT 6.1 on the rear deck
better sub
CDT 6.1 in each front door, run them from the ML amp

- can I run the new speakers w/the ML amps?
- should I replace amps?

 

I was wondering about this, too. Is the ML amp a true 5.1 surround amp? Front L-R, center, Back L-R and sub.

 

I'm not sure if it's surround sound, there is a center grille that I assume is a speaker, it isn't shown in the Factory Service Manual. Guess I'm going to do it and see how it goes. I think I'll start by replacing the frt door speakers with my CDT CL-61 and see how it goes.
