Thats 18 lbs. The JL 13W7 weighs in at 832 OZ (or 52 lbs). Now THATS a monster.

Anyways, the JL is in a different league from the Rockfords. The only thing that'll come close to the JL as far as SQ and SPL will be a RE XXX, BA Inhuman 15, BA 555, Alpine Type X 12" (ok, not really close but a nice sub), Eclipse Ti 15, Focal Utopia 33 etc...there are some others I probably forgot.

Bang for the buck? JL may not be worth it for most. But I have never heard anybody say that its a bad sub or it sounds like crap.

what's your address?

the subs are now getting twice as much power but they sound the same. I'm thinking the sub box is too small now. I don't have the box with me (car is at the body shop getting some paint work done) otherwise I'd measure it but it fits on the back shelf of my 2nd gen GS but it's a little shallower than that space.

Tone here in NYC had it in his GS before it was stolen... 2x13w7 with JL 1000/1's powering them... because of the weight it needed a reinforcement bar.... the deck was made of suede and had a mesh grille.

speechless.

that is a SICK setup. i don't think i could ever do a setup like that without having tint though. i'd be concerned about it all getting stolen... sorry to hear about Tone's situation.

did he ever get that sorted out?

Yeah the car was recovered. The entire audio/video system was gone. They ripped/cut his Veilside bumpers to get at the HID's on his car. Other than that they didn't take anything else.

His car is actually getting painted/finished up minus the system.
