Major Cancelation issues 97 SC400
Are you guys also having cancelation issues with your setups? I've done 2 different setups now, and both have had major issues.
The first setup was with my JL 8W7 ported, firing through a hole in the rear deck I cut. It was fiberglassed in around the top of the gas tank and to the side. I figured it just wasn't sealing well to the hole in the rear deck and letting all the bass get trapped in the trunk.
The second setup I'm on now, I put a MTX 5500 in the rear deck. Fabbed up a spacer to mount it in the stock location, and its running free air. Sounds damn good and loud with either the windows down, or door open. Shut the doors and roll up the sun roof, and all of my bass goes away. The rear deck has mulitple layers of dynamat extreme with second skin spectrum sprayed on on top. Same with wheel wells, rear firewall, ect. every thing's also stuffed with polly fill. Trunk is pretty well sealed from rest of the car.
I do not want to give up and just do a convential set up in the trunk, and port the crap out of the rear deck, as I'm trying to keep the road noise down, and still not have to sound dampen the trunk area.
