Default Stock sub amplifer

I have been trying to research how much power a stock sub amplifier in a 98 gs 300 puts out rms and max but i can't find anything. I have seen a lot of people on here upgrade the sub, but i am curious if they also upgraded the amp or continue to use the stock one, and if so is it sufficient. I have a few spare subs lying around and i was going to design and make a box and use the stock amp to power it, i don't want to put my own amp in unless i have to. I just can't seem to find out if the stock amp is only putting out 50 watts or like 200. Any insight at all is appreciated.

I have no idea what the stock RMS rating is for the sub channel (all channels are built into one amp), but i can tell you for sure that it isnt enough to power any aftermarket sub.. it would be a complete waste of time. You are better of adding a sub in a box, and a new amp to power it...

yeah everyone that upgrades the sub gets a new amp also

the stock amp is really underpowered and actually underpowered amps are not good for certain subs

I tried powering an aftermarket sub with the stock amp before. You can probably only hear the bass if your volume is very high with the Bass set to max.

Actually I find the stock sub sounds pretty good with an aftermarket amp. You should change the amp and not the sub and see how you like it. You may be satisfied with that. At least for a little while.
