2GS Amp Install
I have had to completely remove my boards that my amp's were installed to because it was causing a high pitched squeaking sound. It was literally driving me nuts. I believe it was the screws going into the cross member frame, and whenever I would be driving, small chassis flexes I believe were rubbing with the screws. I have put up with this for over 3 years not knowing where it was coming from. Best buy did the install by the way. I finally got fed up with it today and pulled out my rear seats, rear deck , etc. Then I went driving and guess what... no squeaks! God I am glad to finally get rid of that problem. Anyways now I have to decide how to mount the damn amps again. have any of you guys had the same problem that I had?
i'm dealing with the same problem right now. I don't want to give up my spare tire space but I want to mount my amps somewhere else other than on the rear parcel shelf. I want to save that space for my subs and a bigger box (the box a shop built me is too small for the subs I have now). I'm thinking about building a false floor on either side of the trunk by drilling in a piece of MDF on both sides (keeping the middle clear) and then building up from that.
has anyone else done it this way?
anyone? bueller?
