Default Optima Dead?

After not starting my car for a month, it won't start any more. When it does (with another car's battery) it would start and then if I run it for an hour, I can start it again in 2 minutes, but then al power disapperes again. I disconnected my audio system fuse, but still the same thing is happening?

How do I fix that. Did I mention that the 1 gage wire in my system gets hot but now its discoonnected, so its not my stereo.

you battery is completely drained, meaning the chemical inside of it is messed up and would not holding the charge anymore.
time for new battery.

you need to completely disconnect your battery if you don't drive the car for a while.

I would recommend getting a new battery.it's not your stereo system, if you are not turning it on, it's the chemical in the battery.

You can try one other thing.
The problem is that your battery is completely discharged and won't accept the high current your altanator gives. when completely empty.
Your battery can be recharged if you use a charger that can suply a very smal amperage (don't know if that's a good word, but hey I'm Dutch). Try that for a day. Chances are that it will get some power in. If that's the case you can put it in your car and go drive to recharge it some more.
It helps sometimes but not always.

Good luck.

optima has 6 years pro-rate warranty, so you maybe able to contact your local optima retailer to get some credit when you get a new battery.

good luck

retrodrive - Batteries, even Optimas, are not bulletproof. Just want to make sure. Is that 1 gauge wire disconnected from the electronics staying cool? If it is disconnected from your electronics and is still getting hot, there might be a problem on that wire.
