I never saw an eject button in my trials, but alas, I guess it would serve me no purpose anyway as it won't play DVDs. Brooklyn is far away, but if that company can turn it into a TV, it might be worth the trip.
While I'm usually against being "lawsuit happy", I think in this case, I'm more than willing to join. My DVD needs to be updated BADLY. There is SO much that is out of date! What good is a nav system if the information isn't correct? I didn't pay the kind of money I did for the Nav just for it to be "sorta" right...
FYI folks:
My 2001 GS 430 nav system doesn't recognize Ohio Turnpike exit 5A, which has been there since before 5/20/97, more than 4 years before I purchased my car. This is a major east-west artery, not a back street in Clyde, Ohio.
Does anyone else have documented examples of obsolesence of the data?
"On the NAV note, I have seen the 2002 model with NAV and the options are a bit different. There is marked point directory manegment and also a few other improvemnts." and this "I am planing to buy the 2002 update. I have a DVD burner..."
Based on the lack of notification here, I assume the 2002 update is not available. As such, if someone knows about the above, any info would be appreciated.
BTW, the 2000 nav database is pathetically out of date for northern New Mexico; many roads, intersections, etc. completely missing including several major thoroughfares.
Nope, still no news. Lexus still has not made it known to me, at least, that they
a) care about their customers,
b) will actually prepare an update for long-time owners of RX300s (in my case), or
c) will stop lying to us and stringing us along with their stories.
I personally don't think that thread explains dick. I'll be curious to see what NAV version my 02' GS430 has on it (is currently being shipped from CA). It came off the 'boat' a little over a week ago and I'd imagine that there can't be many more 02's being shipped.

Oh really? You don't think it explains that the 2002 version is out for those of us that already have cars? That's what it was in response to.
I showed the fax to my service manager. He doesn't believe what is said "on the Internet". He claims to have no knowledge of an update, saying that Denso dumped the project on Lexus without warning, and Lexus has been unable to recover. I don't know what this has to do with the Navtech data ????
I've heard this story since last fall.
When I told him of my system (2001 GS) not being aware of a five-year-old interchange on the Ohio Turnpike, he said that he will check with the district to see if there is a 2001 'refresher'.

I showed it to my dealer on Monday, and he ordered it, and is installing it tomorrow morning.
