Default Audio volume adjustment problem (Levinson 01' GS)

Yesterday my volume control stopped working and was stuck at a low level.

The ASL section of the "Audio" controls disappeared. The "sound" button was also missing the pan and fade controls.

The next day around 4:30 AM at about 55 F (degrees) the system resumed normal operation.

Sounds like a software /electronic issue for sure, especially since the "sound" menu wasn't working correctly.

This is the second reported issue I could find here from a search on "volume"

It's been 3 weeks or so since this first occured, and for the past 3 days this has become permanent.

The NAV diagnostic says there are "81 external device errors" on the dump menu, but I don't know of these are errors or just status reports, besides they are in hex or code so they aren't understandable without a manual.

Summary: The ASL button is missing, the "sound" menu doesn't have any options and the volume **** doesn't do anything (nor the steering controls).

Update on this FYI:

I took my car into South Bay Lexus sterday and had them check it out. They diagnosed it as a faulty ML amplifier and will replace it under warranty even though the warranty period has expired.

Thanks to Kelly P @ SB Lexus.

Good to know that you got it taken care of

This is why Lexus remains #1 in customer satisfaction and customer retention. Sure their labor costs are absurd in most cases, but most Lexus dealers will REALLY work with you to keep you happy, especially if you are a long time customer.
