Default Audio sound problem...any advise on how to fix it...thanks

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my audio. I have a 2000 gs300 platinum. There is time no audio sound (from 5 min to an hour), eventhough the radio or CD is playing. Then after awhile there is sound..work normal. No problem with sound from the Nag. When there is no sound, I notice that I can not control the audio, balance ,or treble when I turn the ****...it seems like all the sound controllers stuck. I wonder if anyone ever had this same problem...any advise how to fix it...thanks

I had a 2001 GS300 with a ML amp. It overheated and would be silent. IF I adjusted the **** up or down it would blare in my ears when it came back. I have since changed my whole audio setup. I'm pretty sure Lexus remedied my problem though.

i think its time for a new amp. or could be a bad connection from the amp to the source.

Could it be a bad volume ****? I think there are some other guys on here who had that problem.

Thanks for replying...

My audio does not make weird noise. It is either music or NO music....The car has 165K. I am thinking maybe something loose or something not working right when it is too hot (the heat from the sun or audio component)..or maybe something worn out

at first, I thought I could be the amp...I checked the connector to the amp...it is tight...the weird thing about this...the audio balance, treble, and bass got stuck at high position (from the LCD screen). I could not adjust it when there is no sound...but when there is music sound...no problem with adjusting the audio settings.

probably need an amp, its just like an aftermarket amp clipping, or turning off to protect it self from over heating too much
