Here is a step by step instruction to remove and replace the factory speakers, 4" to 5.5" Polk Audio Component.

also, the factory speakers are 2ohms rating, aftermarket are 4ohms ==> less power to the speakers, but still make very good sound

here are the bolts on the door that you need to remove
4 bolts at the bottom of the door

After remove ALL the bolts, you can pull it out, very easy, if you need to force it out, you are missing a bolt somewhere

 

just use a flat screw driver and pull the plastic out

 

gently lift the door out like in the pix

 

will taking out the door panel enable me to pull out the door wood trim pieces?

stock 4" vs Polk 5 1/2" speaker
notes: paper speaker vs rubber speaker

 

I cut the hole w a hot soldering gun, just melt the plastic =) not pretty, but it works fine, and i can clean it up after

 

new speaker installed with house sealand around to keep air tight for the encloser

new tweeter, I used 1 bolt to holt it

 

final product =) , now a 50k car will sound like a 50k car That's all I can say. even with factory system

double sided tape for the crossover, and zip tide it down
