Default Carputers?

I know it's been discussed before, just thought I'd put up this link that I ran across. Any "carputer" people here?

My carputer is just about ready for install on my SC! I've only had the SC for 2 weeks, but I've been piecing together a car PC for about two years now... the only part I have left to buy is the LCD and I plan to buy one tonight or tomorrow! I'll be sure to post pics during the install and of course lots of after pictures. As of now it will have a 7" touchscreen molded into the dash, only 120gb of music/movie storage but it will have wireless access so I can pick and chose what I want on any given day as far as movies go... DVD player, possibly fingerprint security... not sure what else.

Default Ive got one in my 99GS400....

I've got a carputer in my 99GS400...... pretty simple setup, 1ghz via mobo, 512 ram, 80gb laptop HD, usb GPS, slot load DVD\CDRW, USB wifi, 7" liliput touchscreen moulded in the dash. Sounds is fed to a clarion 7band EQ and then to a pioneer 4 channel amp -> stock Nak speakers. Sub frequencies are sent to a hifonics 1000 watt mono amp pushing a 12" RE XXX.

A lot of useful info is at www.mp3car.com for those interested.... its realy great, video, DVD, music, navigation etc. I wouldnt recommend it for non techy people... its one of those hobbie things - you gotta enjoy the technology to get anything out of it - I personally love it. I havent wanted a USB radio and havent missed it, I've had it installed for about 7months and never get tired of having 40+ gb of mp3's on tap.

I'm with Andrew on this one...the carputer is definitely for techies who enjoy creating something themselves...

I have a 7" xenarc touch screen molded into my dash...1ghz epia board, 160gb hd, earthmate lt-20 gps, dvd slot load...

thousands of mp3s, hundreds of music videos and movies, whenever i want it without inserting any discs!
