Default Spare or No Spare?

hey guys, new to the board, recently bought a 92 sc400. ready to start dumpin money in it. as the title says, i'm gettin ready to put a system in it. JL Audio 13 w6v2 and JL Audio 500/1. i will be building my own enclosure but the dilemma is, do i keep the spare and build a box to take up trunk space, or risk running without it and doing a fiberglass tire well. i live in miami, and i'm gonna be getting some 18" wheels fairly soon. lemme know what ya think

come on guys i need some more opinions. so far most tink i should keep the spare in. if i do that should i try to make an enclosure for the sub on the side of the trunk? is there even enough space for the 13" woofer. if not what do you guys think if i made an enclosure that went right in the middle of the trunk and try to make a built in amp rack with it so i have some storage and both sides of it? yes, no, maybe so?

seems most ppl are not a fan of taking out the spare. looks like i'll have to rethink this setup. lets see what i can come up with.

i took the spare out a long time ago, i say if your looking into doing a nice set up you could probably use that space for amps or something nice...

bluelex-

how long ago did you take yours out? i feel like i could make a much nicer install and still have quite a bit of trunk space left if i take the spare out. but i didn't know if there were a lot of ppl who regretted taking out the spare.

I've never used the spare, but it's just comforting knowing its there especially if you have nice rims. Just don't want to be caught without one when you really need it. I say just get creative with the sides of the trunk where the antennae and the CD changer are.

hhmmmm, interesting. i just feel like i would have an easier time trying to salvage what little space i have in the sc400 by taking out the spare. although it is comforting just knowing you have the spare. although also i have a heavily modded eclipse right now as well on low profiles and i built an enclosure setup so i could keep the spare. it sucks not having the trunk space and i've had the car with the mods on it for 2 years now and no tire trouble. hmmm. anyone else with some thoughts?
