Default dual mode phone

Hey Guys,

When I got my 01 ls430 i believe it came installed with the lexus phone because there is a cradle in the armrest and a manual for the dual phone in the glove box. It did not come with the actual handset. I got a touchpoint 2200 which is teh same phone as the one used by lexus. I put the new phone in and it doens't seem like it is integrating or being detected by teh system. The phone is charging though. Has anyone else tried this or do they have any info.

Thanks
Bobby

I suppose it is possible that your phone's software does not support the Lexus system - even if it looks like the same model phone sold by Lexus. There may have been some software customization to make it work. (I've had countless software upgrades on my current phone.) It would be interesting to see if a dealer in your area would provide support. I asked my local Lexus dealer in 2003 about supporting a Lexus phone in my 2000 LS (offered to me by a friend who no longer used his phone) and was told that they had discarded all documentation regarding phones for the 2000 LS and that they no longer supported them. Gosh, my car was only three years old.
