Default Tap my current subwoofer wires

I was working on my trunk today, and I noticed that I have VERY easy access to my existing subwoofer through the trunk. That is, I can get the positive and negative wires really easy if I used alligator clips or whatnot. So that sparked some interest in me. My birthday is in a few days and I'm going to be banking some major cash and I was thinking about getting some kind of additional thump in the trunk

My question is, is the following possible? If not, what would I have to change.

Take that + and - wires coming out from the AMP that go into the Nakamichi SUB and clip them off the Nakamichi SUB and then run it through a line level convertor.

Then from the line level convertor, run it to whatever amp I'm running, and from the amp, run it to whatever Aftermarket SUB(s) that I want to push.

Will that work fine? Or do I have to tap the signal from my headunit or whatnot? I've done installs on Chevy Colorado's but those were easy like nothing. You guys know most of my electrical audio background

Yes. You can do it. Search for my thread "aftermarket sub in Sc400" Its titled something like that. Anyways, read it and you can do it. Just make sure the signal is not going to the Nak sub at the same time!
