From what ive heard you have to bypass the factory amp.... and this is from a few diff. audio shops.... they said you can damage your aftermarket head unit if you run it threw fac. amp. ....

So your best bet would be to Re-Wire the car.... unfortunetly... unless you have a Bypass...

hey. Yes you can. I dont know if your HU have RCA cable out put for FS, RS and Sub. If they do, i belive there is a harnes cable for the Lex. Should be similar to the Camry kit. I have done this to my 97 es and works fine. What this harnes does is connect into your factory harnes, than have RCA cable at the other end where you connect your aftermarket RCA into. And this will allow you to run your HU with your car's factory speaker. I dont know if the your es has a SW. IF it does it should play too. Regarding about running another amp for the SW. Yes its possible, be alot easyer if your HU has a Sub output. Just do the regular amp hook up and run the RCA from your HU with the sub cable out into the amp.

I will be redoing my system by the end of this month. Will have pix to show you what i mean. if you can wait.

yeah i can wait. as it stands right now i have no window tint, so im not putting anything in htere until i do that.

my dech has a single set of RCA cable jacks. the wires from the harness will have to be spliced in, i have no area to plug an RCA adapter in. the amp for the Aftermarket sub will be using the RCA outs.

there is no factory sub, atl east not one that i can see/hear.

my system is small but packs a decent punch:

Pioneer DEH 1550 HU
Stock Interior Speakers
Alpine 12" SW
Jensen A34XP 340 watt Amplifier. power output is 170 RMS, 340 Peak. bridged at either 2 ohms or 4 i cant remember at the moment.

thr sub is OLD, but still sounds intense. alpine only gets better with age

you could do the slice and dice on your wires and hook it up into a crossover for better bass. And look for a harness cable for that car, im pretty sure there is one. i get you a link later, got to go out!

BTW im gonna go pickup my head unit and amp next week.

yeah there has to be a wiring harness. the only thing is that if i pull the lexus HU out,. its ruined, i dont have the code for the anit theft. but thats not a big deal, when i sell the car, i can sell the $100 head unit with it LOL.

Also, can i screw my amp directly to the top of my SW box?
