I just got back to my installer who is going to install the Alpine IVA-C800 / NVE-N851A / 6-CD CHANGER. He quoted me at $600 for the installation and he said it will take two days to do because he has to customize the front dash.

To anyone here who got there equipment installed, is $600 too much for this. My alpine dealer told me it takes 2 hours to install this and my guy who I THINK i trust said it takes 2 days.

Also, the Alpine DVD navigation NVE-N851A, is that thing suppose to be hooked up in the trunk? My guy told me its too wide for the dashboard and thats why its alot of work to install it.

Any input would be greatly appreciated !!!

Too much?? I think so. I'm no install pro, but I was able to install my own Alpine head unit, XM radio and iPod in 4 hours...it took that long cause I was figuring it out as I went.. The trunk mount stuff is only routing the cable and securing the thing to the rear deck.

Find another installer dude.
