Default replacement security keys????

Does anyone know where I can get replacment keys for a 1990 LS. My key was drowned (long story) and the FOB no longer works. The dealership (Lexus of Ontario) told me that because it is old technology they don't make them anymore, but that I could get a new alarm system for about $300

The replacement keys, especially if you want the remote master keys will cost you almost as much as an aftermarket alarm, if not more. When recently faced with the same predicament (dealer wanted $283 for a remote master; $340 for a set of two...go figure) I went the aftermarket alarm route. It's a no-brainer for that kind of $$, plus the car is more secure. I say find a good installer, invest in a good alarm, and you should be all set

I got my replacement keys off E-Bay, but on your search type the follow: Your type of car then transponder baypass keys should be around 15 bucks. However, email the sell to make sure that it comes with the key loading program/sequence.

No I don't remember the seller but I've truly bought about 75 items and never had a problem. just when you take it to get cut try it in the door first only. Then go home and do the programing

Hmm I tried this ebay key too, but my dealer told me the key cannot be cut by them. Supposedly, these Lexus keys are cut on some fancy laser machine in Canada that costs a gajillion dollars. Not believing them I also took it to some other places like Home Depot, Sears, Walmart, etc but they all said they could not do it, go back to the dealer

LOL You'll have to take the key to a lock-smith. My key cost $30.00 to cut. Get the key e-mail me if you don't get the programming code and I'll fax, mail, or scan it to you...
