I found this picture on car domain... How do I put an aftermarket sub in place of the stock? What kinda amp is needed? Does it sound much better?

You take out the back seats, deck, and voila! there are just screws holding the sub in. As for sub, just get a free-air one and a stronger amp. I'd rather get a regular sub in box than free-air cuz they don't have the OOMPH. Some people take out the stock sub and just leave the hole for air to come in the cabin.

Yea i have tried to take the sub out of the housing... but there is no way to get the speaker out the of the metal housing that screws on. But if i needed to get a new amp either way, then i wont get another free-air sub.
Changing the subject a bit but...: Im looking to get maybe 2 10" subs and an amp... Are they are hard to install? Also how much would it cost to do this?

I ditched the factory sub and fitted an amplified 8" Rockford Punch (free air), it's not earth shattering but 10x better than stock and dont take up any valuable space.
