Default CD Changer Problem

To all,
My cd changer just all of the sudden broke down on me. I try to clean it, but it still say error whenever I turn it on. Does anybody have any solution to the problem or anything? If I have to take it to fix at theDealer, I would rather buying an aftermarket parts---Like a Mp3 player or something.........

i had a similiar problem, dealer cost waaaay too much so i just ordered an in-dash cd/mp3 player. what is the problem EXACTLY?

mine would just jam up trying to read any cd. i fixed it for a while after cleaning it but started goin nuts again. i figured it would be too much to replace the cd changer so like i said i just wound up going with the in dash to save time and money......... mostly money and its nice to have an mp3 player anyway instead of having to change out cd's and burning new ones etc.

If feel comfortable removing the changer from the vehicle, just take it to a general electronics shop. They can actually fix cd changers where a dealer can only order you a new one.

RaynArt,
The problem is that every time that I turn on the CD player, it would say error in the little screen. There seem to be nothing wrong with the loading part, but the playinng part is a little problem. It happen before and I just change that disc for a while and it would play again. But this time it is still not working......

Pianoman72,
You live in Texas too, where would you recommend to go and fix my CD players. About how much you think it would costs>?

I've used Bayard Electronics on Mockingbird and Greenville here in Dallas. I had a Sony tape player fixed there and they did a great job.

They charge you a "diagnosis fee" of like 30-50 dollars and if you decide to get it fixed they put that towards the repair. You probably just need a new laser or something. No big deal for them I'd imagine.

I don't know if they would need it, but if you want the stereo wiring diagram for your car I have a copy of it, just PM me your email address. It's a couple of megs.
